Deira is one of the oldest districts in Dubai, located along the Dubai Creek. It is in Deira that most of the traditional oriental bazaars are located. An integral part of the Deira area is the gold and spice markets. These are colorful oriental bazaars on the shores of Dubai Creek, where they sell gold, perfumes, incense, spices and coffee. The local canal has always been the center of Dubai's trade and today, like hundreds of years ago, both large ships and small dhows carrying people and goods ply along it. An evening walk along the picturesque embankment will be a great end to the day.
